(1)质量轻。聚丙烯密度仅为0.91 g/cm3(聚酯为1.38 g/cm3),因此聚丙烯土工布与聚酯土工布相比,在相同的强力下,同等质量的土工布具有更大的覆盖面积。

(2)化学稳定性好。聚丙烯具有优良的耐酸耐碱性,特别是耐碱性能优于聚酯。聚酯土工布碱性条件下或大量水分存在时易发生不可逆的水解作用,使材料性能下降甚至完全丧失,尤其不适用于与水泥、石灰、盐碱地等碱性界面直接接触的部位,而聚丙烯土工布则完全适用上述环境,且不会对环境造成污染。

(3)力学性能高。聚丙烯纺粘针刺土工布是由连续的聚丙烯长丝固结而成,布面拉伸断裂形式主要为纤维的断裂,而短纤土工布主要为纤维之间的抽拔,因此,聚丙烯纺粘针刺土工布的强力、延伸率等力学性能都要优于短纤土工布。
